Saturday, December 17th at 2:30 p.m. EST we screened the made-in-NC documentary All Together Series and hosted a community discussion about fully funding what’s possible with North Carolina public education!
Most people in North Carolina don’t know that the state’s constitution requires the state to provide all students with access to a “sound basic” education. This is unique and important. “All Together” captures a moment when education advocates were pushing hard to get the state to meet its constitutional obligation. Every Child NC has been a strong and effective advocate for election of legislators that care about this issue. The North Carolina Supreme court’s most recent ruling for Leandro v. State of North Carolina is a major victory for public school students. This decades-long court case sought to ensure that EVERY CHILD receives the constitutional standard of education.
