We celebrate Kwanzaa beginning with the principle of Umoja (Unity), December 26 and ending January 1 with the principle of Imani (Faith). Read about the 7 principles and symbols at the official website of Dr. Maulana Karenga, Founder of Kwanzaa. The National Museum of African American History & Culture also has a website with suggestions of songs, readings and activities associated with each day of Kwanzaa.
In keeping with the theme of Umoja, we invite you to join AAERO in working toward our mission and vision: Guided by our commitment to community well-being, the mission of AAERO at Melchor-Quick Meeting House is to enable Black people to have the means to learn and share education of all kinds throughout our lives. We envision a transnational Black diaspora with healthy, interdependent communities living in harmony with people of every identity and with all forms of life in the world that we inhabit.
